The department handles a wide range of civil disputes including professional negligence claims, property and boundary disputes, building, contract and consumer disputes, landlord & tenant problems and commercial disputes.
We understand that our clients want a clear and robust strategy from the outset but at the same time need their dispute resolved as quickly as possible and in the most cost effective way. We therefore assist our clients in avoiding litigation where possible and embrace alternative methods of dispute resolution such as mediation.
There will however always be cases that can only be resolved through litigation and we therefore take a proactive approach to litigation to try and achieve the quickest possible outcome.
We offer methods of funding civil claims and disputes that can be tailored to suit the needs of the client and the complexity of the case. These funding methods include conditional fees and similar arrangements where appropriate as well as competitive hourly rates for cases where conditional fee funding is not suitable.
