Flexible Working and Part Time Working
The right to request flexible working now exists for all employees.
This change was introduced in June 2014 and allows all employees who have been continuously employed for 26 weeks to requests flexible working.
Requests for flexible working can take all forms to include place of work, for example homeworking, or a type of contract, such as a temporary contract. Other common variations include: part time working, flexitime, job sharing and shift work.
The request must be provided in the prescribed format and employers have time limits to decide the requests and any appeals which fall to be determined. a determination to grant or decline.
